Mijas – Costa Del Sol

Transfer Time – 30 minutes

Best For – Couples and families looking for a traditional Spanish resort

Mijas is a beautiful resort located in the mountainside overlooking the coast of the Costa Del Sol, a stunning location with many great beaches and some wonderful scenery and wonderful walks.  This is a traditional Andalucian village, typical with white washed building, winding streets and lovely out door cafes which are perfect for sipping a cool drink and watching the world go by.

The beach in Mijas is a pleasant area of about 800 square metres, dotted with pretty fishing boats and sun beds, however should you wish for a busier, less crowded beach, Mijas Costa has plenty to offer, just perfect for families, with soft golden sand gently shelving into crystal blue waters, plenty sun loungers and parasols to hire, perfect and safe for swimming too.  For the energetic, there is a good selection of water sports for hire, including jet skis, pedallos and banana rides, and scuba diving and snorkelling are a popular pastime with the water being so clear.  La Cala beach is another popular area for families too, with volleyball and a play park, and for those looking for peace and quiet, there is plenty coves and private beaches along the coast line.

Evenings in Mijas are laid back and relaxed.  Take a wander into the old town and explore the winding streets, enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants, fresh fish being extremely popular here too.   The wander along the beach front for a selection of bars, and cafes serving drinks until the early hours.  Many bars will have evening entertainment too and children are welcome virtually everywhere.  Shopping is nice in Mijas too, with many souvenir and craft shops in the old town, perfect for picking up that little memory of your holiday.

Mijas is well located for exploring the whole of the Costa Del Sol, however Mijas has lots to offer anyway.  There is a wonderful water park on the outskirts of town, with many chutes and flumes to keep everyone entertained.  Golfers are well catered for, there are 4 world championship courses with in a few miles of the village and they allow beginners to play and offer tuition too.  Further afield, there are many wonderful sights, most popular is Gibraltar with its Barbary Apes and many historical sights.  There is also Barcelona and Madrid, with shops, cafes, history and amazing sight to see, something for everyone.  And don’t forget, other Costa Del Sol resorts have many wonderful attractions for all concerned.
