Benalmadena has so much to offer everyone in the perfect sunny location, with bustling tourist areas, old village and beach, its no wonder UK holiday makers have been coming here for years and will continue to do for many more. The resort is split into 3 main areas, first is the Benamadena Pueblo, the old town, with wonderful old buildings, cobbled streets and laid back lifestyle, very traditional and perfect for sitting in one of the open air cafés and watching the world go by. Then you have the Benalmadena Costa, the beach area, with miles upon miles of sandy coves. And lastly there is the Arroyo Da La Miel, the town with bars, pubs, cafés and the Tivoli amusement park.

Daytimes in Benalmadena can be so varied, you can find peace and tranquillity if you wander on the outskirts of town, with stunning coves where a sun loungers and a good book are the order of the day. Or you can hit the main beach which is over 8 kilometres of soft golden sand, gently shelving into the sea, perfect for families, safe for kids and because it is so huge, it remains uncrowded even during high season. For those with more energy, there is water sports, beach volleyball and football available, so there’s plenty to keep everyone occupied. The beach is lined with many beach bars, cafes and restaurants too, for the all important lunch and cool drink.

Evenings a re really when this resort comes alive, the harbour in particular, perfect for a lovely fresh fish meal and then boogie on down in one of the many nightclubs pumping out the latest tunes til the early hours. For a more sedate night out, you can go to the old town, with quaint traditional bars, cafés and restaurants, all offering family orientated entertainment and a perfect location for watching the world go by. And of course the beach comes alive too, with many family friendly bars, offering a slightly livelier theme, so there’s something for everyone and more than enough to try somewhere different every night. Shopping is a pleasure here too, with many shops, boutiques and souvenir stalls in all 3 districts, and many people tend to shop til late when the temperatures have dropped a little.

Benalmadena is a great location for exploring the southern parts of Spain, nearby the town there is 2 amazing water parks, with slides and chutes to keep everyone entertained, or you have the Selwo Marina, where you can see the dolphin shows and even swim with them, a perfect family day out. For the culture vultures, there are so many things to see, take a day trip to Gibraltar or Madrid, with many wonderful buildings and museums to explore. There’s boat trips across to Morocco and Tangier’s, a perfect destination to pick up a bargain and experience something a little bit different. Benalmadena is a wonderful destination, give it a try, you wont be disappointed!!
