Malgrat is a wonderful resort on the Costa Brava, steeped in history and wonderfully sunny, makes for a perfect summer break. Malgrat has something for everyone and views you could only dream off, attractions to entertain you and access to some of Spain’s largest cities within a short train ride, its no wonder British holiday makers have been coming here for years and will continue to do so for years to come.

The long stretch of beach in Malgrat is wonderful, awarded a blue flag award for cleanliness and is still known as one of the best beaches in the Costa Brava. With over 5 kilometres of soft golden sand that gently shelves into crystal clear waters, makes is a popular places for children to play, it is safe and warm and perfect for paddling in. The beach is uncrowded and has plenty sun loungers and parasols for hire and there’s a wonderful promenade backing the beach where you can escape the midday sunshine, take a spot of lunch and get a refreshing drink. For a much quieter beach, you could always wander further along the beach to Torada Mouth beach for a relaxing day in the sun. For water sports, neighbouring Santa Susanna has masses to choose from, jet skis, para gliding, pedallos and diving to name but a few.

The night-life in Malgrat De Mar is varied depending on what takes your fancy, lively, quiet, or romantic, the choice is yours. There is plenty bars, cocktail bars and even a couple of discos, all welcoming families and some offering a variety of evening entertainments too. There is plenty places to wine and dine, Malgrat has some wonderful beach front locations for a romantic meal, and there also a good selection of international restaurants offering a variety on menus, and of course there is the usual fast food venues and take aways too. For an even livelier choice, hop along to Lloret for nightclubs, pubs and restaurants as well as some wonderful cafés where you can sit outside and watch the world go by.

Malgrat De Mar is in a wonderful position to get out and about and experience the excursions and sights of the wonderful coastline. Hop on a train and an hour later you will find yourself in Barcelona, a fabulous city offering culture, architecture, football stadiums and wonderful cafés, tapas bars and restaurants. For children, you must spend a day at Water World, Europe’s largest water park, with masses of chutes and flumes to keep the young and young at heart entertained all day long. Port Aventura is not too far away either, a fabulous theme park in Costa Dorada with thrilling rides and a variety of other attractions to entertain all the family. Gerona and Montserrat are two beautiful cities with great shopping, history and places to wine and dine.
