L’Estartit is a wonderfully authentic resort situated on the north coast of the Costa Brava, this bustling resort has a wonderful harbour area, just perfect for sitting back, enjoying a cool drink and watching the world go by. The scenery around these parts are fabulous, simply breathtaking with a stunning pine hill backdrop, white washed buildings all trickling down to the turquoise sea of the Mediterranean.

For the more energetic, there is a great water sports centre with many activities, i.e. jet skiing, para gliding, wind surfing and pedallos to name but a few. Divers will be in their element here, there are some wonderful coves to explore and there’s even its own underwater park to dive. For those who want to chill right out, there are a handful of private coves just along the main beach, where the order of the day is a sun bed and a good book!

Evenings in L’Estartit are varied depending on your taste. There are lively, quiet or family orientated bars and cafés, many of them offering a variety of evening entertainments, i.e. karaoke, bingo, quizzes and live music and there’s some lovely outdoor cafés and bars over looking the harbour, perfect for watching the world go by or enjoy the wonderful sunsets around this area. There is plenty places to wine and dine in L’Estartit, there are lots of traditionally Spanish restaurants serving local produce and there’s also quite a few international restaurants, i.e. Chinese, Italian and Indian to name but a few, and of course there’s also fast food venues and take aways to choose from. Shopping is another popular evening past time in resort, most holiday makers shop when the suns gone down and the temperatures are a bit cooler, and most of the shops and boutiques are open til late too.

Barcelona is a short train ride for L’Estartit, with is wonderful historical sights, Nou Camp football stadium and of course a mass of choice for bars, cafés and restaurants to try. For the families, you have many options, one of them being Europe’s largest water park, just in nearby Lloret de Mar, with many chutes and slides, a perfect day out regardless of your age. There’s also Port Aventura in neighbouring Salou, with thrilling rides and adventures, great for all the family.
