Praia Da Luz – Algarve

Praia Da Luz – Algarve

Transfer Time – 60 Minutes

Praia De Luz is a wonderful up and coming resort, and over recent years had become increasingly popular with British Ex-Pats. This resort still retains most of it original charm and has retained it ruling of low rise buildings, the main construction of new hotels is to the west of the village behind the beautiful promenade and many stunning villas a cropping up on the outskirts of the centre.

Paraiba Da Luz is very popular with families due the e wonderful horse shoe bay, with calm clear waters and the softest golden sand, gently shelving and safe for children to paddle in. With a good selection of water sports on offer and fantastic diving opportunities, its not wonder people love this little piece of Portugal. For those wanting a larger beach or private coves, wander along to Lagos, the choice here is immense.

Despite its growth over recent years, Praia De Luz has many local and traditional restaurants, and lots of lovely cafes, especially along the promenade behind the beach, so you wont have to go far to find somewhere to dine out. Nightlife is fairly laid back with a good selection of family orientated bars and cafes, some live music or offering evening entertainment, but overall relaxed.

Shopping is quite good too, with an excellent choice of shops along the promenade and local craft shops too, however if you want a larger choice, head to Lagos on the local bus, approximately 10 minutes and enjoy the market and larger selection of shops and boutiques.

Kids love Praia Da Luz as you don’t have to leave the resort, however if you want to, there is so much to see and none of it too far away. Lagos has the most amazing Zoo where you can pet the monkeys and other small animals. There’s Splash and Slide Water Park in Lagoa and Zoo Marine in Guia, Fabulous for all ages…and for the old ones, there’s even a karting centre or surfing close by too.

So I’m sure you will agree, Praia Da Luz has the perfect balance, regardless of your taste or budget, a holiday here will leave you sun kissed and rejuvenated, just what we all need once in a while.
