Lagos is a wonderful and stunning resort located on the Western coast of the Algarve; it is an area enjoyed by all age groups and offers something for everyone, regardless of your taste or budget

Lagos is particularly popular with families, with is stunning, safe gently shelving beach and crystal clear seas, making it a safe area for the little ones to play, while you relax under the umbrellas and watch the world go by. Lagos also has its own water park and zoo, a sure-fire winner with children young and old. Other popular pastimes include cycling, water sports and horse riding.

There are two areas to this beautiful village, the old town which is steeped in history, with buildings and sights dating back to 2000BC, and the older part of Lagos is still circled by 16th century village walls. Behind these walls you also have St Goncalos Gate which is still served as a watchtower even today. Lagos is certainly full of history, however wander along the cobbled streets and you will enter the new town which is a hub of bustling pubs, bars, cafes and even a nightclub or two. The atmosphere here is buzzing and there are some wonderful places to eat out too, fresh fish being very popular as well as steakhouses and more traditional fayre.

Lagos is perfectly situated for exploring this wonderful destination, and a popular way to get around is boat trips. This way you can explore beaches and small villages only reached by boat. Diving is extremely popular here in Lagos too, with crystal clear waters and perfect conditions to learn, or if you are a seasoned diver, there are instructors that are willing to take you to dive centres where you can experience some amazing under sea sights.

There isn’t really much to add to Lagos, it really is an area to suit all ages and caters for all. The beaches are blue flag awarded for their cleanliness, the village has plenty for the historical buffs out there, and the villages has so many places to eat out and take a drink, there no surprise British tourists are returning here time and time again.
