Laganas is situated in the south of the island, with beautiful scenery and terrific beaches, Laganas is definitely the liveliest resort on the island but still retains much of its traditional charm. Laganas has something for everyone and really suits all tastes and budgets with a large variety of accommodations to suit.

Laganas has the best beach on the whole island, miles of golden sand, shelving into shallow crystal clear blue waters, perfect for non swimmers and youngsters too. The beach has many sun loungers and parasols to hire and there are plenty of tavernas, cafés and snack bars dotted along the beach front to escape the heat of the midday sun. There is a huge water sports centre on Lagana beach to, offering every type of water sport you could wish for. There are pedallos, canoes, jet skis, para gliding, ringos, bananas, water skiing and many many more. Scuba diving is also very popular and you can take a boat trip out to one of the many wonders under the sea from Laganas or dive from the beach, its a perfect location for all water sports enthusiasts.

Laganas has many shops, boutiques and souvenir shops, many open until the early hours, and there is regular weekly markets selling local crafts and local produce too. The nights in Laganas are generally lively, however still family friendly and there is quieter bars and cafés on the outskirts of the resort for those wanting a more relaxed ambience. On the whole, Laganas attracts many young and lively clientèle, with masses of bars, cocktails bars, pubs and clubs all open til early hours, especially in high season. There is a massive selection of places to eat too, ranging from basic snack bars and pizzerias, traditional tavernas offering local Greek produce and other international restaurants offering a range of cuisine, Indian, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, the choice is endless.

Laganas has everything you would possibly need on a Greek holiday, however, should you wish to leave and explore, it really is in a perfect location to do so. Boat trips are very popular, taking you to part of the island unreachable by car or foot, some amazing beaches, including Smugglers Cove on the north of the island. Laganas is famous for the rare Loggerhead turtles and you can do a conservation excursions and learn everything there is to know about these wonderful animals. There are various water parks for the more energetic and plenty historical sights including museums, ruins and churches. There are so many beautiful beaches to be seem too, miles upon miles of tropical sand and private little coves.
