Best For – A perfect resort for young and old and especially for families

Argassi is now becoming Zante’s most poplar resort, growing year after year, attracting families, young people and couples, offering a traditional village centre, fantastic beach and friendly locals too. Once a suburb of the islands capital, Argassi is now a bustling village in its own right, it is a fantastic all round resort and appeals to all walks of life. It is a beach lovers paradise and perfect for walkers too, with lush green valleys and gentle walks. A pretty town with lots to offer.

The daytimes in Argassi are mostly spent wandering the little shops, taking in an excursion or spent on Argassi’s wonderful; beach, with miles of soft golden sand, gently shelving into the shallow, crystal clear waters of the Ionian sea, making it perfect and safe for children or non swimmers. For the more energetic, there is a huge selection of water sports on offer, try your hand at jet skiing, water skiing, paragliding, or maybe have a go on the pedallos, canoes, bananas, ringos or a spot of snorkelling, there’s plenty to occupy you, or if not there are plenty sun-loungers and parasols to lay back and watch the world go by. There is a good choice of beach bars and tavernas too, for a midday snack out of the sun.

The evenings are magical in Argassi, with choices to suit every taste, budget and age. The choices of places to wine and dine are massive, ranging from snacks, cafés, pub meals and 5* restaurants, international restaurants e.g., Italian, Chinese or Indian and of course the wonderful traditional tavernas offering lovely local produce and a floor show to entertain everyone, Greek dancing, plate smashing and the world famous handkerchief dance too. All washed down with local retsina, ouzo and locally produced wines. There is a huge selection of bars, cars, cocktail bars and pubs offering a variety of entertainments, all family friendly and even a handful of disco’s should you wish to dance through to the early hours.

Argassi is well placed to get out an about and explore this gem of an island. Boat trips have become more and more popular, especially as there are some beautiful sights to see where you can only get to by boat. Take a trip up north to The Shipwreck at Smugglers cove, or dive in the blue sea caves with the amazing crystal clear blue waters. There are many historical sights too, many museums, monasteries and churches. An easy drive will take you into Zakynthos Town with its cobbled streets, outside cafés and tavernas, quaint little shops and boutiques. There are water parks, water sports and local markets too, so much to keep you occupied should you wish to leave this little piece of heaven.

Zante is a spectacular island with stunning coast line, beautiful mountains and offers a beautiful resort for a perfect holiday destination.
