Transfer Time – 25 minutes

Best For – Those wanting a relaxed traditional village with superb beach and activities.

Aghia Paraskevi is a purpose built resort, built sympathetically to blend in with the very beautiful surroundings, with stunning views and an very impressive beach. Situated on the south coast of this beautiful Greek island, Aghia Paraskevi has everything a traditional Greek village has and a lot more besides, perfect for a laid back holiday and suitable to families and couples too.

The beach in Aghia Paraskevi is simply stunning, with a beautiful, lush green backdrop of pine trees down to the golden sand gently shelving into the cool, crystal clear waters are just perfect for those who want to relax by day and feel the sand between their toes. There is a couple of beach side cafés offering lovely food and shelter from the midday sun. The beach is over 1 kilometre in length and totally uncrowded and is the only beach on the island that can compete with the famous Banana beach at Koukounaries. During high season it has been known for the luxurious beach gazebos to be snapped up quick however there is plenty sunbeds and parasols too. There is also a good selection of water sports too for the more energetic or adventurous.

The night-life in Aghia Paraskevi is laid back and relaxed, although there is an excellent choice of beachfront and village centre cafés and restaurants. And of course you get the traditional tavernas, offering Greek cuisine, a spot of Greek dancing and of course the fabulous plate smashing! There is a nice selection of bars and places to drink, however, you are only a short taxi ride or a water taxi across to Skiathos Town where the selection is much larger.

The shopping in Aghia Paraskeviis slightly limited to a couple of supermarkets and a few souvenir shops, but again Skiathos Town is much better and local markets selling local crafts are also in short distances from this area.

There are many sights and sounds to experience in Skiathos, The fish market and old port of Skiathos Town are just perfect to sit back and watch the world go by. The monasteries of Evangelistra and Kounistras make interesting places to take a trip to, and of course the local churches are outstanding. Take a boat trip to the sister island of Skopelos or Alonissos or maybe enjoy learning to scuba dive and visiting one of the many wrecks around this beautiful island.

If you are an sun worshipper who loves beaches and quality accommodation, then Skiathos is for you. Beautiful, traditional and breathtaking.
