Transfer Time – 10 minutes

Best For – Lively couples or families looking for history and night-life

Situated on the south coast of Samos, Pythagorian is a stunning resort, steeped in history and breathtaking scenery. Pythagorian was the first tourist resort in Samos and has grown in popularity over the last few years. Still a working port, its a perfect place to sit back and watch local fishermen bringing in their daily catch or ships and yachts mooring, whilst sipping a cool, long drink.

Daytimes vary in Pythagorian depending on what you are looking for. There are two pretty beaches located near the port for a quick swim in the beautiful clear waters. However, families prefer Potokaki and Doryssa, 2 fabulous beaches within a short stroll of this resort. Soft golden sand, gently shelving into the Aegean sea. To explore more of this town, take a wander through the maze of cobbled streets, with little shops, souvenir shops, churches and outdoor cafés. There is plenty to do, if you don’t want to lie back and enjoy the sun, there is lots to see and enjoy.

The night-life in Pythagorian is cosmopolitan and bustling, especially around the harbour. There are so many bars, pubs, cafés and discos to dance the night away, all offering something different, and all family friendly too. The choice of places to wine and dine are numerous too, there are a lovely selection on the harbour front where you can dine Al fresco and watch the world go by. There are cafés and snack bars and a good selection of international restaurants, i.e., Italian, Chinese, Indian and English to name but a few. There a plenty traditional tavernas offering the freshest fish caught that day and often followed up with a floor show of Greek dancing and plate smashing. The evenings are fun for all the family.

There are many historical sights to visit within walking distance of the town, ruins around Pythagorian such as Licourgo Castle, the ancient amphitheatre and the Eupalinos Tunnel are just a few. Samos Town is definitely worth a visit, with is many shops, bars and cafés and historical sights. The island is full of stunning beaches for those wanting to relax and of course boat trips around the island are perfect for those wanting a change of scenery. You can also take a boat trip to turkey and explore their country too. Patmos, a nearby volcanic island is beautiful too for a mornings exploring.

There is so much to do on this beautiful island, walking is a popular past time, walk in land and see some of Greece;’s most beautiful flora and fauna, we guarantee, one visit just wont be enough.
