Best For – Friends and families looking for a fabulous beach and a place to unwind

Pefkos is definitely one of Rhodes’ best kept secrets, slowly developing into a charming resort and set in one of the most scenic parts of the island. Only a small drive from Lindos too, makes this a perfect destination for all walks of life, taste and budget. This is a blissful resort and its no wonder now, that holiday makers are starting to return here year and year.

The beach in Pefkos is certainly one of the best on the island, soft golden sand that gently shelves into the shallow, crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean sea. Children especially love the safe, sandy beach, a perfect place for families to spend the day, with plenty of cafés and tavernas to escape the midday sun too. There is a small selection of water sports on offer here in Pefkos, however, you are a short distance from Lindos and Lardos, both which have fantastic beaches and an abundance of water sports.

Eating out in Pefkos is fabulous, the selection of fresh fish restaurants and local produce offered in tavernas is so fresh, actually caught that day, perfect served with a crunchy Greek salad and washed down with a glass of retsina or ouzo. There are a small selection of cafés and fast food snack bars too. The nights are fairly relaxed, with a small selection of bars, cafés and even a disco, but all offering family friendly atmospheres, and some even offer entertainment too. The local tavernas are a big favourite here, also offering a local floor show of Greek dancing and the occasional smashing of plates, a tradition only seen in Greece.

The location of Pefkos is fantastic to get out and about and seeing more of the fabulous island. The famous Acropolis is situated in Lindos, a stones throw from Pefkos. Rhodes Town is easily accessible with its many historical sights, fab shops and boutiques, and of course a huge selection of places to wine and dine. There are thermal baths in Kalithea for a day of rest and relaxation. Water parks for the young and young at heart, and a visit to many of the beautiful resorts are a must. There is so much to do if you can bare to drag yourself away from Pefkos.

Rhodes is a fascinating island, steeped in history, excellent beaches and lovely villages, Rhodes is also known as the sunniest place in the whole of Greece, all combined together to makes for a special holiday.
