Best For – those wanting a scenic and traditional resort

Kolymbia is a beautiful resort situate on the east coast of Rhodes, surrounded by beautiful countryside, with olive groves, cypress trees and local flora and fauna, makes for a fantastic holiday. Kolymbia is a perfect resort if you wish to relax and wind down but still be near to livelier resorts such as Faliraki and Afandou, you really have best of both worlds here.

The beach is breathtaking and a favourite place to spend the days in Kolymbia, with stunning expanses of golden sand, gently shelving into crystal clear waters, perfect for families too, as the water is safe and shallow. For the more energetic, there are a small selection of water sports on offer, including pedallos, jet skis, water skiing and paragliding, to name but a few. The neighbouring resorts of Afandou and Faliraki also have fabulous beaches and masses of water sports too, and not forgetting the many small coves and private beaches should you want total tranquillity.

Night-life in Kolymbia is fairly relaxed, however there is a good selection of bars and cafés where you can take a drink and enjoy some light entertainment, however most holiday makers enjoy relaxing over a meal and mixing in with the locals in one of the many traditional tavernas, where local produce is lovingly prepared and washed down with the local ouzo or retsina, and all to often, the waiters and staff often put on a floor show of traditional Greek dancing and plate smashing, fun for anyone, regardless of age or tastes. For a livelier night-life, you can always hop in a taxi to nearby Faliraki, which has bars, cocktail bars and discos in abundance,

Kolymbia is a perfect location for getting out and about and exploring this fantastic island of Rhodes. There are many, many fantastic beaches and smaller villages offering great places to eat out or enjoy a drink, and Rhodes Town is an easy bus ride from Kolymbia and there are many shops, boutiques and souvenir stands as well as huge amounts if historical sights to enjoy. There are water parks close by with many slides and splash pools, perfect for families and for those wanting to chill out completely, there are the Thermal baths at Kalithea.

Rhodes is said to be the sunniest of the Greek islands and are perfect for a summer break.
