Kallithea is a fabulous, traditional Greek village situated on the northern most tip of the island, in one of the most scenic of areas, surrounded by lush green hillside and beautiful Bougainvillea lining the roads and houses. Kallithea was once a local spa town too, the only place in Rhodes with natural thermal spa’s, perfect for a bit of rest and relaxation.

The days in Kallithea are spent wandering around the Marble paved streets of the spa town, enjoying the variety of shops and local craft stalls. Or maybe you would enjoy the beach, a lovely expanse of soft golden sand, gently shelving into the crystal blue waters of the |Mediterranean Sea. Kallithea is very popular for snorkelling too, with many small, rocky coves along the coast nearby. For the more adventurous, there is a fantastic selection of water sports, ranging from pedalloes, canoes, jet skis, para gliding and scuba diving to name but a few. There are many beach from cafés and traditional tavernas, serving snack and a local speciality of fresh fish too, perfect for escaping the midday sun.

The evenings in Kalithea are spent chatting over a meal and wandering around the village, maybe browsing the shops or taking a cool drinking one of the cafés or bars. There is a good selection of family friendly bars and cocktail bars, all offering a wonderful laid back atmosphere. The selection of places to eat are varied, from snack bars to 5* A La Carte restaurants, but a firm favourite with everyone is the more traditional tavernas, serving local produce, Greek dancing and of course the plate smashing, entertaining for all ages.

For those wanting to dance til dawn, the party capital of Faliraki is less than 10 kilometres from Kallithea, making it a perfect place for all ages.

Should you wish to drag yourself away from this fabulous resort, there are many places you should consider. The Acropolis being the most famous, and of course Rhodes Town is not to far and that has many historical sights worthy of a visit, not to mention hundreds of places to wine and dine and shops to keep you busy for hours. There is a water park a short drive away, always popular for families and of course the other resorts on the island, all offer something new and interesting. Another “Must See” is Petaloudes, Valley of the Butterflies, where literally hundreds of millions of butterflies habit, absolutely stunning and something you will probably never experience again.

Come visit this beautiful island of sunshine, you wont be disappointed.
