Faliraki – Rhodes

Transfer time – 40 minutes

Best For – The party capital of the island – definitely suited to the young and the young at heart wanting a lively holiday.

Faliraki is situated on the North east coast, with fun, sun and sand the order of the day, then partying until the early hours. Only 9 miles from Rhodes Town too, opens up even more opportunities for shopping, night-life and fabulous places to wine and dine.

The beach is definitely Faliraki’s biggest and best attraction, with miles of soft golden sand, gently shelving into the crystal clear waters, with a huge choice of sunbeds and parasols, perfect for lazing around recovering from the night before. The water sports in Faliraki draw people from nearby resorts, the choice is massive and very reasonably priced. Try the more sedate canoes and pedallos or go wild on the banana or the ringos. You can even do the jet skis, water skiing or windsurfing, and for the complete dare devil, there is para gliding, extreme sports on holiday!!!

Well night-time is really where Faliraki stands out, with over a hundred bars, cocktail venues, disco’s and nightclubs to choose from, all located in around the centre, there are places on the outskirts of the resort where you can have a quieter drink should you wish too. The resort is host to many snack bars, cafés and restaurants offering international cuisine, such as Indian, Chinese and Italian, then you also have the traditional Greek taverna offering local produce, Greek dancing and plate smashing. There are a large selection of shops, boutiques and souvenir shops too, many open til midnight and a local market selling local crafts, leather and gold, so there really is plenty to keep everyone entertained.

Should you want to drag yourself away from this amazing resort, there are so many other excursions available to you. Try a Jeep safari, a booze cruise, or a boat trip to nearby Turkey, great for picking up a bargain or two. Then there’s a water parks nearby with crazy slides and slash pools, perfect for the more energetic. Kamari has lovely natural thermal spa’s, lovely for relaxation and re cooperation. The beaches around the island all offer something different, maybe Prassoni, perfect for wind surfing. And for those wanting to do something a little educational, you have numerous historical sights, The Acropolis and many Byzantine Churches, museum and ruins, the choice really is endless.

This resort is also suitable for families, however we would recommend an accommodation away from the main strip, it is a beautiful resort, with many attractions and a great location for getting around the island.
