Best For – Anyone looking to experience Greece as it should be seen, totally outstanding.

Mykonos is a beautiful island, very “Greek” and traditional. Mykonos is probably first recognised as the island where Shirley Valentine found herself and where the film was made. It is exactly like you see in that film, laid back, beautiful white washed houses and villas and the most stunning scenery seen anywhere else in Greece.

The beaches in Mykonos are all superb, award winning golden sand and shallow crystal blue waters. Perfect for families or couples. Mykonos town has a good selection of water sports on offer too, with jet skis, water skiing and diving to name but a few. Panormos in the North is Mykonos too has excellent conditions for wind surfing. You can hire a boat from Mykonos beach too and explore the island, a lovely way to get around. But for those wanting to relax and kick back, there is also a selection of smaller coves where it is peace perfect peace on the menu.

Mykonos Town has been a firm favourite for the rich and famous in Greece as well as those coming in on the private yacht’s,mykonos Town has a very cosmopolitan feel to it even though it holds a very traditional theme too. There are numerous bars and cafés where you can sit back and enjoy the varied entertainment. There are also a huge choice of places to dine out, sea front “al Fresco” tavernas offering traditional food as well as a good selection of other nationality restaurants, i.e. Chinese, Italian and Indian. Mykonos really has it all.

The main village of Mykonos Town are a labyrinth of small streets with boutiques and souvenir shops, gold jewellery is fantastic and very good value too, perfect for a change of scenery. Should you wish to leave this beautiful resort, you can visit the Archaeological museum at Agios Stefanos. In fact there are over 300 churches on Mykonos and are well worth popping into a few of them rich in gold and silver, very interesting. Little Venice is another must, with a colourful collection of Captains houses converted into bars and restaurants, making eating out fun and exciting. This little island really has something for everyone, a perfect all round destination with a cosmopolitan feel but still retaining a traditional charm.
