Nidri – Lefkas

Transfer Time – 1 hour 15 minutes

Best For – Families and couples wanting to experience greets at it’s best

Situated on the islands east coast, sheltered by beautiful pine trees and olive tree’s, Nidri remains relatively unspoilt by tourism in general, although is now becoming a popular favourite with British holiday makers. Dramatic scenery, beautiful beaches and a charming village makes you wonder how it was kept a secret for so long.

The beach in Nidri is a tranquil place where days are spent soaking up the surroundings, relaxing with a good book and a cool drink. The popular harbour front offers a lovely view over the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea and there is a lovely selection of water front cafés and tavernas, perfect for escaping the midday sun. The beach is gently shelving into the shallow waters making it a perfect place for children to play while you relax and enjoy the hot sunshine, with plenty sunbeds and parasols too. For the more energetic, there is an excellent selection of water sports available such as water skiing, paragliding, jet skiing and pedaloes to name but a few.

The selection of evening entertainment offers a great selection whether you want to relax and enjoy a meal and a few drinks or maybe you wish to dance though til the early hours, Nidri has it all!! There is a good selection of local tavernas offering traditional food and typical Greek entertainment, Greek dancing and the odd plate smashing, fast food places and restaurants offering many international cuisine choices, i.e. Chinese, Italian and Indian. Fish restaurants are amazing in Nidri, with many restaurants cooking the catch of the day, so fresh! As for places to enjoy a drink, there is quiet places, family places and a small handful of discos etc., something for all.

Getting out and about in Lefkas couldn’t be easier, the local bus service is excellent, car hire is cheap and of course, Nidri do beautiful boat trips, you can even visit other islands such as Kefalonia, Skorpios and Meganissi. Don’t forget too, that Lefkas is attached to the mainland by a giant causeway so you can always take off and visit the many wonders that would entail.

Life on Lefkas is incredibly laid back, you would never guess that you were connected to the mainland, totally unspoilt and green and lush. A paradise for sun worshippers wanting to spend your days swimming, sailing and relaxing. A true Greek paradise.
