Best For – Those looking for a stunning resort in stunning surroundings (not recommended for those with walking difficulties due to the hilly location)

Paleokastritsa is definitely the Jewel in Corfu‘s crown, it is an area of complete natural beauty and stunning views and a quaint village centre. The beaches in Paleo are beautiful, 4 in total all offering a different ambience, the main beach is busiest and there are a variety of smaller coves offering privacy and tranquillity. Some beaches are sandy and some are shingle, but all gently shelving into the sea making it safe for children and non swimmers. There is a variety of water sports for the more energetic too, including water skiing, banana and tubing and this area is perfect for scuba diving too, with the multitude of coves to explore.

The village of Paleo is the type of place where you interact very close with the locals, makes friends and enjoy a drink or two in the many outdoor cafés and bars. This village oozes charm, traditional restaurants and occasional live music, making it perfect for couples and families alike. There is plenty history too, there is a cliff top monastery overlooking Paleokastritsa and many other historical sights within a short drive too. There are many visitors who come to enjoy Paleo’s beautiful resort and boats trips in and out of the resort too. A perfect base to get out and about and explore all of Corfu.

The night life in Paleokastritsa is varied, there are a huge selection of restaurants and traditional tavernas offering local produce, many fish dishes caught fresh that day. There is a good mixture of bars and cafés and all family friendly and many offering evening entertainments and happy hours. There is the odd disco too should the need to dance the night away takes your fancy.

The resort is spread over a wide area, many hotels and apartments are built into the hillside, offering stunning views, however, many are not suitable for disabled or pushchairs due to the location, so choose your property carefully.

There is a good selection of shops and supermarkets offering a wide range of traditional Greek souvenirs and produce, and you can always take a day trip into Corfu for a larger selection of boutiques and markets.

Paleo has something for everyone and no where else in the world will you find such breathtaking views, such friendly locals and a fabulous selection of activities, its simply stunning.
