Glorious Glyfada – Corfu

Best For – Beach lovers looking to kick back and soak up the sun. Not really suitable for disabled or wheelchair bound due to the hilly location.

Glyfada is a quaint little village situated on the west coast of Corfu, surrounded by lush green, tree lined mountains, this is a truly spectacular resort for those wanting to experience stunning views, and probably the best beaches in Greece. Perfect destination for couples wanting a romantic break away from the hustle and bustle of other major resorts.

The beaches here in Glyfada are definitely some of the best in Corfu, with a huge expanse of lush golden sand, gently shelving into crystal clear blue waters of the Mediterranean. The beach is sheltered by a beautiful mountain backdrop, creating a stunning location. The shallow waters are perfect for water sports enthusiasts and there is a a fantastic water sports centre in Glyfada offering many choices, jet skiing, water skiing, para gliding and many more. Although a popular choice for people from other areas to visit this wonderful beach, it is large enough not to feel crowded and the sunbeds are available for hire too.

There is a great selection of bars, cafés and snack bars lining this beautiful beach front and the village centre also has a nice choice of bars and cocktail bars, perfect for a more laid back evening. There is a good selection of restaurants and a few traditional Greek tavernas offering Greek dancing, good food and optional plate smashing!!

Should you feel the need to leave this little bit of heaven, you are in a great position to explore this beautiful island, There is a golf course nearby, boat trips, diving and Aqua parks all with in a short drive of Glyfada. Everyone should visit Paleokastitsa if you are situated on the West Coast, one of Corfu’s most stunning resorts. Corfu Town is another popular area for a day trip, offering boat trips to Mouse Island, Historical sights, Byzantine churches and monasteries, shops, markets and a wonderful marina to name but a few.

Hiring a car is the easiest way to get around this wonderful destination, however there are tour companies based in most resorts will arrange organized trips and excursions.
