Santo Thomas – Menorca

Transfer Time – 50 minutes

Best for – Families and couples who want a beautiful beach and a relaxed atmosphere

Santo Thomas id definately one of the most beautiful resort on the island of Menorca, with a stunning white sand beach, rolling pine trees as a backdrop and quaint little white buildings scattered around the resort, makes the perfect location for a family holiday or a romantic break for two. Even the Spanish come here for their holidays as it is so beautiful and the ambience is so friendly and peaceful.

The days in Santo Thomas are predominantly spent enjoying the wonderful beach here. The beach is a secluded area with white, soft sand which shelves ever so gently into the most amazingly clear water. Because the beach is sheltered by a stunning backdrop of trees and mountains, it makes the surf calm and waters so clear, it is shallow and a prefect place for the little ones to play, and of course provides a perfect place to swim and snorkel. There is a large selection of sun loungers and parasols for hire and the beach still feels uncrowded, even during high season. For those wanting a little more excitement, Santo Thomas has a great water sports centre with all kinds of activities on offer, with things such as water skiing, jet skiing, wind surfing, banana rides, ringos, pedallos and canoes, to name but a few. There is a fabulous beach bars and a selection of cafés offering food and drink through out the day too.

Evenings in Santo Thomas are relatively quiet although there are some wonderful places to eat out. The restaurants are traditionally Spanish and offer a wonderful selection of local and international dishes. There are cafés and fast food outlets too, so you should always find something you fancy. The bars and cafés offer a relaxing atmosphere in resort, although some will offer some kind of evening entertainment and all welcome families with children. The promenade is very popular with everyone, where you will find a lovely selection of open air cafés and restaurants and a handful of shops open until late in the evenings.

Santo Thomas is in a great location for getting out and exploring the island of Menorca, that’s assuming you wish to leave this little piece of heaven!!! All holiday makers really must take a trip into Mahon, the islands capital, it has something for everyone, with masses of historical sights including a 17th century fortress, old Gothic buildings and even an old part of town dating back to medieval times. Then shopaholics will love wandering around the shops, boutiques and souvenir stalls, picking up many bargains along the way. Mahon is a maze of winding streets and has many wonderful places to wine and dine too. Menorca has two amazing water parks to enjoy, giving the young and young at heart a day to remember. Car hire and boat trips are a great way to get out and about and you will love all the other resorts on this wonderful island.
