Punta Pprima has been a popular resort for British holidaymakers over many seasons, it is a great all round resort and has something for everyone, regardless of age, taste or budget. Located on the islands southern tip, Punta Prima if fronted by a stunning beach and beautiful rolling countryside, its no wonder that tourists return here year after year.
Daytimes are predominately spent on this wonderful blue flag awarded beach, still uncrowded even during high season and a huge choice of sun loungers and parasols for high. Children love this beach, just perfect to play on, with soft golden sand which gently shelves into warm, crystal clear seas and perfect for sand castle making. The surf is shallow and calm so safe too. For those who want peace and tranquillity, there are some hidden coves not too far from the main beach too. There is an excellent dive centre in resort, offering tuition for adults and children, taking you out to some wonderful underwater wrecks and sights, and for those who don’t dive, they can come along on the glass bottomed boat and see the sights too. For the more energetic, there are some great water sports available, pedalloes, canoes, jet skis, para gliding, banana and ringos, to name but a few.
Punta Prima is a relatively quiet resort as night-life goes, however most spend their evenings enjoying a meal and wine in the many traditional and international restaurants scattered around the resort. Fish restaurants are popular too, with fresh fish often on the menu, caught fresh that day. There is a good selection of cafés and bars around the resort offering a family friendly atmosphere and some even put on evening entertainment. Punta Prima is only 10 kilometres from Mahon too, which is lovely for an evening out, and offers a more lively choice of bars and discos is you wish.
Most holiday makers leave their shopping until the evenings, when the temperatures drop, and Punta Prima has a good choice of shops to wander round.
Excursion are easily accessible in Punta Prima, everyone should take a trip into Mahon, the islands capital, with is wonderful history and harbour, winding streets with shops, boutiques and souvenir stalls, and of course so many wonderful places to wine and dine. Ciudadela is another shoppers paradise, with so many shops to explore and pick up a bargain. There is 2 water parks within easy reach too, a great day out for the young and young at heart, with over 20 chutes and slides to experience. Punta Prima also has a championship golf course too and there’s nothing better than playing golf on a wonderful sunny day. Menorca has it all, go, see for yourself, you wont be disappointed.
