Es Castell is a stunning resort located on the Southern tip of Menorca, only a short drive from the island’s capital of Mahon. Es Castell has many historical sights too, so suits the culture vultures too. Its a great all round resort and has proven to be a favourite amongst British holiday makers for many seasons and now receives many return customers too.

The best place to swim in Es Castell is the rocky inlet nearby the stunning harbour area, however families and beach lovers tend to wander into Cala Mesquida (about 10 minutes from the village centre) where you will love the soft, golden sand which shelves ever so gently into the most amazing crystal, blue water. The surf is calm and shallow, absolutely perfect for the little ones to play in and there is plenty sun loungers and parasols where you can sit back and watch the world go by. There is a good selection of water sports too, so plenty to do should you feel more energetic.

Es Castell is located on the mouth of the port of Mahon and Es Castell means castle, the town is full of wonderful architecture and history, take you time to admire the stunning Georgian buildings and the town hall and museum. The town of Es Castell is home to Menorca’s Military Museum, which is fabulous for children, they really get them involved and they learn lots too. Shop-a-holics will enjoy Es Castell too, with plenty shops, boutiques and souvenir stalls and even an occasional market, plenty opportunities to pick up a bargain.

Night-life here is varied, depending on what you require, couples who want a nice romantic meal head down to the marina where there a lots of open air restaurants, perfect for sitting watching the busy harbour and watching the world go by. Families enjoy this area too, and will enjoy the massive choice of fast food, cafés and internationally themed restaurants, as well as the local Spanish menus too. There are bars and cocktail bars all offering family friendly entertainment or somewhere to sit and chat and enjoy the warm nights. For a change of scene or a disco or nightclub, head into Mahon, there is plenty choice there.

Es Castell is well located for exploring the island, take a boat trip around Menorca and visit some wonderful resorts and secluded coves only reached by boat. Mahon has lots of historical sights, some amazing shops and a wonderful working harbour, perfect for taking a cool drink and watching everyone busying around while you relax. There are two amazing water parks in Menorca, offering you a great day out, over 20 slides and water attractions, perfect for the young and young at heart. Menorca has so much to offer you, be sure to explore a little further, you wont be disappointed.
